DEZIGN
Living with a pandemic budget has been challenging for
many including myself. While moving into a new space, I had a hard time finding
modern, sleek and fresh new home decor pieces on a budget. Everything interesting
was so expensive and everything affordable looked boring and generic. Often,
DIY home decor can look tacky. But, I took it upon myself to ravage through the
internet’s DIY projects and found the best ones to share with you all. These
easy projects all offer a budget friendly change with a fresh and elegant feel.
Here are 4 different DIY home decor projects that I’ve
found to be so beautiful and would recommend you try out!
This complex mirror design which at first glance looks
to have cost a fortune is actually a DIY. Good house Keeping walks you through
the steps to create this beautiful decoration. It will do a great job of not
only adding a shiny reflection to your space but work as an art piece on your
wall. For an even bigger statement try using colours that will stand out in
your space. For example, if you have darker walls try this DIY home decor with silver or
white string.
This might seem difficult but do not to worry because The Painted Hive has a step by step tutorial to help you. As the lockdown drags on for months your chairs are starting to look drab and you feel it’s time for a change. You don’t need to go and buy a whole new dining room set, instead, paint the chairs you already have. Depending on the paint colour you choose, you can aim for a fresh spring look in a few simple steps. Look at you, saving the planet and redecorating your home one chair at a time.
The next DIY is the easiest but might not be for everyone. In recent months, this DIY has been trending on many platforms. All you need is an old item you want to breathe new life into, and expanding spray foam. Yes... that is all you need. Next time you go to a Home Improvement store, grab a can of spray foam for a few dollars. As a lazy girl, this is the perfect way to take my boring old mirror and turn it into a whole new piece perfect for my selfies. This DIY give you the chance to put your artistic skills to the test. It works on almost any hard surface and will be the statement piece your room was missing. Check out Social Unseen for more takes of this spray foam mirror style.
This last DIY is perfect for small rooms and apartments. Ever since I moved out of my parents’ house, I have been getting used to the real adult life. Nothing says, “You are a grown up” more than having all the plants. But since my floor space was limited, I needed to find innovative ways to become a plant mom. All the hanging and wall mounted pots were either too expensive or didn’t look nice. So, when I came across this project, I had to share it with you guys. Your favourite plants can be mounted on the wall to give your space a little pop of nature and tie it all together. Check out Better Homes & Gardens for the materials and steps you’ll need to create this DIY project.
